What this covers

This policy covers this website, including our jobs site at jobs.mbidirectmail.com, operated by MBI Direct Mail + Digital, Inc. (“MBI”), 710 W New Hampshire Ave, DeLand, FL 32720. When we handle mailing lists and campaign data for a client, we do so under our agreement with that client, not under this policy.

What we collect

What you send us. When you fill in a form we receive what you put in it: your name, email, phone, company and message. Job applications are covered in “If you apply for a job” below.

What the website records. We measure how the site is used with our own analytics, hosted on our own servers. A visit records the pages you view, what you click, how you move through a page (scrolling and pointer movement, never what you type), the time you spend, the type of device and browser, the site or campaign that referred you, and an approximate location and network derived from your IP address, of which our analytics keep only a shortened form. Like most websites, our servers also keep standard logs, including IP addresses, for security.

We set one first-party cookie (mbi_u), a random identifier with no personal information in it, so we can recognize a return visit. If you send us a form, we connect it with your visits so the person who replies can see what you were looking for.

What we look up. When you send us a form, we may look up public information about the business you write from, such as its website, the address it lists and who provides its email, and figures for your area from public sources such as the US Census Bureau and USPS. We also check whether the network a message came from has been reported for abuse. These lookups use your email’s domain, the general area of your visit and any ZIP codes you mention, never your name or your message itself.

If you apply for a job

When you apply for a position or join our talent network, we receive what you give us: your name, email, phone, location, a LinkedIn or portfolio link, whether you are authorized to work in the United States, who referred you or how you heard about us, the kinds of roles that interest you, your message and your résumé. A résumé or message can include more, such as your work history, education and references, and we use whatever you send only to consider you for work at MBI.

Please do not include your Social Security number, date of birth, or health, financial or other sensitive details. We do not need them to consider you. If you ask for an accommodation during hiring, we use that information only to provide it.

Applications are seen only by the people at MBI involved in hiring. We keep an application while we consider you and, if you joined the talent network, so we can contact you when a role that fits opens. We also keep applications as long as employment record rules require. You can ask us to delete your application at any time, except where the law requires us to keep it.

What we use it for

To answer you and do the work you ask for, to consider job applications, to understand and improve this website and our own marketing, to keep the site secure, and to meet our legal obligations.

Who handles it

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertising networks. It is handled by our own team and by a small number of service providers who work for us: website hosting, customer relationship management, email delivery and the map images on our contact and direct mail pages. We disclose information when the law requires it. We do not allow other parties to collect information about your activity over time and across websites when you use this site.

Your choices

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not set the cookie, do not recognize return visits and do not record pointer movement. You can clear the cookie in your browser at any time.

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by calling 800-359-4780, writing to the address above or using our contact page. We will not treat you differently for asking.

How long we keep it, and how we protect it

We keep inquiries and customer records for as long as we work together and for as long as business and legal record-keeping requires. Job applications are kept as described in “If you apply for a job.” Detailed website activity records are deleted on a rolling schedule. Information is stored on servers in Boston, Massachusetts. Connections to this site are encrypted, and access to personal information is limited to the people who need it, though no way of sending or storing information online is completely secure.

Children

This website is for businesses. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
